Raymond Revel Drops New Song, "Running from Reality"

Singer-Songwriter, Raymond Revel's new song, "Running from Reality" is a beautiful melodic ballad that talks about the girl of his dreams. In search of this surreal love, he reveals  how he falls into a downward path and the torture he experiences. He'd rather be asleep than awake just so he can see her again. But what if she isn’t there the next time he falls asleep? This tension is what fuels the song forward, and Revel is able to show off some spectacular creativity in this piece. “I hope people connect to this tune. I tried very hard to make it artistic and lush, and I do think this message will come across. I think this song has some major potential and I am excited to see what waves it can make,” he explained. 


While Revel's sound feels familiar and his music fits seamlessly into a curated pop playlist, his voice is truly unique-- a mashup of Justin Bieber and John Lennon, and his songwriting ability is far from ordinary. The lyrics of "Running from Reality" perfectly illustrate why his other song, "Sunrise," was on Spotify’s “Discover Weekly” playlist for  an impressive four straight months.

"Running from Reality" is radio worthy. But that' comes as no surprise. The track was put together by a top quality team. Revel worked in cooperation with Keith Harris and Voyager Mastering, both of whom have worked with the likes of Ben Rector, Dave Barnes, Cody Fry, Clay Finnesand, and many more. 


Originally from Burbank, California, Raymond had an early exposure to music.  At only 5 years old he was already beginning to play the piano by ear,  and was writing full songs before he even hit puberty. Through the years, Raymond has served as a background singer for Demi Lovato, Pharrell, and Little Big Town of episodes of The Voice, The Jingle Ball and for the American Music Awards. Additionally, Raymond has performed as the lead singer in a band, has led multiple a cappella groups, and of course performs as his own solo act. Needless to say, Raymond brings experience to the table when writing and producing his own music.

However, beyond Raymond’s experience, it is his sound and approach to music that makes him unique. Raymond utilizes various raw and synthetic instrumentation to create a joyous and authentic sound. Raymond focuses on storytelling with his songs - his lyrics are not overly complex, and are easily relatable to listeners of all ages. Raymond’s sound is not overly processed, and even he would likely argue that it is not always produced perfectly. But that is the glory of it all.
